Dr Olajide B. Rasak Olajide

Dr Olajide B. Rasak Olajide is a graduate of the University of Calabar, Nigeria where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Science Education in 1991. He subsequently obtained Master of Science and Doctoral Degrees from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 1998 and 2002, respectively in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development with specialization in Extension Communication. Dr Olajide has industry experience spanning eight years post-doctoral qualification that saw him work in several non-for-profit and nongovernmental organizations including Centre for Communication and Reproductive Health, Bida, Niger State, Research Alliance to Combat HIV/AIDS (REACH); a community based social science led collaborative research of the Roberta Buffet Centre for International and Comparative Studies, Northwestern University Evanston, IL, USA and the Faculty of the Social Sciences, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. His sojourn in the non-government engagements culminated in working as the Zonal Senior Programme Officer for Family Health Internal (FHI 360) before becoming a faculty member of the University of Ibadan where he teaches agricultural communication. Dr Olajide has exposure in international courses that cut across issues of Education, Agriculture, Social intervention and Health. His research efforts have focused on Entertainment –Education strategies and associated genre; Soap Opera and Reality Television Show and expertise and skills in community mobilization for development agenda in health, education and agricultural projects, project monitoring and evaluation, negotiation and consultation skills with wide range of audiences and targets both in rural and urban communities including youths, women, farmers of wide and varied farm enterprises, principal stakeholders and policy makers at state and federal levels.
